Dr. Ashoojit Anand, MD, FPM
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
With over 29 years of experience in community medicine, geriatrics, and palliative care, Dr. Ashoojit is dedicated to improving healthcare access for the elderly and those with complex medical conditions. She has trained and mentored countless healthcare professionals, collaborated on national health initiatives, and contributed to medical education through teaching, research, and publications. A passionate advocate for holistic, dignified care, she also leads public health programs and supports nurse practitioner training across India. Beyond medicine, she enjoys marathon running and learning new languages (she speaks more than 6 languages fluently).
Dr. Praneeth Pillala, MBBS
CO-FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
With expertise in mental health, LGBTQIA+ health, HIV/STI care, and palliative care, Dr. Praneeth focuses on creating safe, accessible medical spaces for vulnerable communities. A recipient of the Grand Challenges Canada grant, he has led research initiatives and co-authored medical literature, including a chapter on HIV Primary Care. He mentors healthcare professionals in sexual health, transgender health, and nurse practitioner programs while consulting at multiple centres. Passionate about healthcare equity, he actively promotes well-being through education, advocacy, and community outreach.
Mr. Chethan K. Raj, GNM
NURSE
Mr. Chethan is a dedicated nurse with over 15 years of experience in elderly care, wound management, and HIV patient support. Having spent a decade at an NGO providing nursing and counselling for people living with HIV, he is known for his deep empathy and compassionate approach. He specialises in caring for bed-bound patients and those with complex medical needs, ensuring dignity and comfort in their care. Passionate about elder care, he also trains caregivers to provide skilled and compassionate support. His unwavering commitment to patient well-being makes him an invaluable part of the Sarv Aveksha team.
